BetaPOS Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data the BetaPOS app (“the app”) uses and where it goes. BetaPOS is made by Nanda Mochammad (“I”, “me”).
The short version: BetaPOS keeps your data on your iPad. I do not run a server for the app, I do not collect your data, and the app has no analytics, ads or tracking.
Data the app stores on your iPad
To work as a cashier app, BetaPOS saves the information you enter:
- Shop details: shop name, address, phone number, receipt message and social media accounts.
- Products, categories and discounts.
- Sales: items, quantities, notes, totals, discounts, payment method and the cashier who made the sale.
- Cashier names and PINs. PINs are never stored as plain text. The app stores a one-way hash, so the PIN itself cannot be read back.
- App settings, such as the printer you connected last and failed login attempts.
All of this is stored in the app’s private storage on your iPad. It is not sent to me or to anyone else.
Data I collect
None. The app does not send your shop data, sales data or usage data to me or to any third party. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
Bluetooth
The app uses Bluetooth only to find and connect to a receipt printer. It saves the name and identifier of printers you connect, so it can reconnect later. It does not collect information about other nearby devices.
Backups and exported files
You can export a backup or a sales report as a file. The file is saved where you choose, for example in the Files app. After that, the file is under your control, including who you share it with.
If your iPad is backed up with iCloud or a computer, the app’s data is included in that backup. Those backups are handled by Apple under Apple’s own privacy policy.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app from your iPad removes all of its data. Backup files you exported yourself stay where you saved them until you delete them.
Security
Your data is protected by your iPad’s own security, such as the device passcode. Inside the app, cashiers and the owner sign in with a PIN, and the app locks sign-in for a short time after repeated wrong PINs.
Children
BetaPOS is a business tool. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If the way the app handles data changes, I will update this page and the effective date at the top.
